SHE staged one of the most talked about shows at New York fashion week — making an entrance on the back of a dirt bike and debuting a line of high-heeled thongs.
And now Rihanna is set to open a pop-up store Down Under.
The Wild Thoughts singer’s Fenty Puma line will be stocked exclusively at a temporary location in Sydney before it’s available elsewhere to Australian shoppers.
It comes as she launched Fenty Beauty – a line of make-up – at Sephora stores globally last week, as well as holding a hot-ticket runway show in the Big Apple.
Her autumn/winter Fenty Puma 2017 collection will hit the racks at an American college dorm-themed temporary store for four days from next Thursday, located at Foot Locker’s George St flagship store in Sydney.
“I wanted the entire collection to be very diverse,” Rihanna — who is also Puma’s creative director — said of the range.
“I wanted different silhouettes, I wanted small silhouettes, I wanted huge silhouettes, I wanted colour, stripes, plaid; I wanted to play around, and I felt like a back-to-school theme was the best way to do that.”
Key pieces include her signature flatform “creepers”, laced up thigh-high boots and apparel including varsity-inspired sweaters, snap trackies and zip-up hoodies in preppy hues like maroon, white and navy.
The collection she unveiled last week in New York — for spring/summer 2018 — will launch in stores next year.
Supermodels including Taylor Hill, Stella Maxwell and Adriana Lima, along with model-of-the-moment Kaia Gerber, strutted in the motocross-themed show, which featured pink sand dunes and was staged at Park Avenue Armory.
Following her college-themed drop, RiRi’s next Fenty Puma collection includes activewear, bathers, oversized spray jackets, luxe trackies with cut outs at the sides, and biker-style thigh-high boots.
After her three-day pop-up, Rihanna’s new season Fenty Puma collection will be available at Puma stores, as well as JD Sports, stylerunner.com, Peppermayo and The Iconic.
